1. OVERVIEW
Welcome to Out of Line!
"We", "us" and "our" means Out of Line by Chiara. We operate this website and online store and our store is powered by Shopify.
These Terms of Service, together with our Returns & Refunds policy, Shipping policy and Privacy policy, describe your rights and responsibilities when you use the Services and buy from us. By using the Services or placing an order, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the Services.
2. USING OUR STORE
Please make sure the information you give us (such as your name, email address, phone number, billing and delivery details) is accurate, complete and up to date.
3. OUR PRODUCTS: PRE-LOVED, HANDMADE AND ONE OF ONE
Every pair of jeans we sell is pre-loved denim in incredible condition, then reworked and hand-sewn into something elevated. Every pair is one of one. No two pairs are the same, and once a pair has sold it will not be restocked.
IMPORTANT: IMPERFECTIONS
Because every pair is pre-loved and hand-sewn, small imperfections are normal. For example, you may notice a stitch that is slightly out of line, or minimal fraying or discolouration in very small areas. These are always minor, and they are part of what makes each pair handmade and one-of-one. If a pair has anything more noticeable, we will tell you in the product description and photos.
Sizing:
The waist and length measurements for each pair are on its product listing. Measurements are taken with the jeans laid flat and may vary by up to half an inch because the jeans are hand-finished. If you're unsure, compare the measurements with a pair of jeans that fit you well.
Photos and colours: We photograph each pair ourselves. Colours may look slightly different on your screen depending on your device and settings.
Brand names: Where we mention the brand of the original jeans, it is only to describe them. We are not affiliated with, or endorsed by, any of those brands.
4. CARE
All of our jeans are delicate and must be hand washed, extremely gently and delicately.
- Turn the jeans inside out before washing.
- Hand wash only, in cool water, extremely carefully.
- Do not machine wash, wring, scrub or twist them.
- Gently press out the water and lay them flat to dry. Do not tumble dry.
- Do not iron on the trim or stitched details.
Damage caused by washing or caring for the jeans in a way that doesn't follow these instructions is not a fault.
5. THE REWORK OPTIONS
Our rework options ("The Rework: One Detail" and "The Rework: Two Details") allow you to be part of the creative process, using jeans that you send to us.
- Booking: When you order, please give us a phone number and email address. We will contact you to book a 10 to 15 minute consultation, where we agree the details and fabric.
- Fabric: We stock several fabrics for reworks, and new ones are added every week, so you will always have a choice. Because the range changes weekly, we cannot guarantee a specific fabric. During your consultation we will show you everything available that week, and you choose the one you like best.
- Your jeans: Your jeans must not be very thick or heavy. If the jeans you send aren't suitable, we will tell you before we start.
- Timing: Please allow up to 2 weeks for the rework, starting from the day we receive your jeans and/or from when the consultation has taken place.
- Postage: Please post your jeans to us using a tracked service and keep your proof of postage. You pay to send them to us, and we pay to send them back to you, also tracked. We’ll give you our postal address when you order. Your jeans are your responsibility until they reach us. Once we receive them, they’re our responsibility until they’re back with you.
- Labels: Unless you ask us to keep it, we replace the original brand label in your jeans with our own Out of Line label as part of the rework. We will agree this with you in your consultation. If you want to keep your original label, just tell us.
- Cancelling: Because each rework is made to your own specification, the 14-day right to cancel doesn't apply.
Everything else in these terms about care, imperfections and handwashing also applies to reworked jeans.
6. PRICES AND PAYMENT
Prices are in pounds sterling (GBP) and are shown at checkout, where you will see the total including delivery. The price charged is the price at the time you place your order. Payments are processed securely by our payment provider, and you confirm you are allowed to use the payment method you provide.
7. SHIPPING AND DELIVERY
Our shipping policy explains our delivery options, costs and times.
8. CANCELLATIONS, RETURNS AND YOUR LEGAL RIGHTS
You have the right to cancel most orders within 14 days of receiving them, as described in our Returns & Refunds policy. Please read that policy before you buy.
9. ERRORS
Sometimes there may be mistakes on our website, such as in a description, price or availability. We may correct errors and, if needed, cancel an order affected by a mistake. If we do and you have already paid, we will refund you in full and we apologise for any inconvenience that this causes.
10. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
All content on the Services, including the Out of Line by Chiara name, logo, photographs, text, designs and product listings, belongs to us or our licensors and is protected by copyright, trademark and other laws. You can use the Services for your own personal, non-commercial use. Please don't copy, reproduce, distribute or use our content without our written permission.
11. THIRD-PARTY LINKS AND TOOLS
The Services may link to websites or use tools provided by other companies. We don't control them and aren't responsible for their content or practices, so please read their terms before using them.
12. OUR RELATIONSHIP WITH SHOPIFY
Our store is powered by Shopify, which provides the technology we use to run it. Shopify collects and uses some information to provide the Services, as explained in our Privacy policy and in Shopify's privacy policy.
13. PRIVACY
Our Privacy policy explains how we collect and use your personal information. We use the phone number and email address you give us to process your order and, for the Rework options, to arrange your consultation. We only send marketing emails if you've agreed to receive them, and you can unsubscribe at any time.
14. FEEDBACK
If you send us comments, ideas or reviews, you allow us to use them to run and promote our business, and you confirm they are yours to share and don't break anyone's rights.
15. PROHIBITED USES
You must use the Services only for lawful purposes. You must not misuse the Services, attempt to interfere with their security or operation, copy or scrape them using automated tools, or use them to send spam or harmful content. Automated tools or AI agents that access the Services must clearly identify themselves and must not hide that they are automated or bypass our security measures.
16. CHANGES TO THESE TERMS
We may update these terms from time to time by posting the new version on this page. The terms that apply to your order are the ones in force when you placed it.
